(30) In a Detroit, Michigan courtroom, Claire Banes Thomas O'Malley and Charles O'Malley are convicted of charges of child abuse, neglect and three counts of willful endangerment of a child after Skyler, Chad and Cassie Thomas testified against their mother and step-father. Mrs. O'Malley was sentenced to three years of incarceration in a Michigan Correctional Facility. Mr. O'Malley was sentenced to five years of incarceration in a Michigan Correctional Facility, added to the fifteen year sentence imposed for other crimes committed by Mr. O'Malley in the Detroit, Michigan jail.

(25) Sixteen reporters are arrested when a group of fifty reporters try to block Skyler's path as he leaves the hospital in Detroit, Michigan with his baby brother in his arms.
(27) "The Rag" and two other Hollywood tabloids run stories about Jeff Timmons and Skyler Thomas having a secret relationship. Pictures are published with the articles of Jeff holding Skyler's arm as the two are surrounded by reporters in front of the hospital. The way Skyler is positioned masks baby Preston from the view of the cameras.
(28) A statement is issued from Sky High Entertainment that any and all interviews were to be canceled and not rescheduled. Skyler Thomas was said to be boycotting any and all forms of paparazzi.
(30) "It's Not Your Business" single and video are released. Skyler performs the song at the Platinum House in Orlando, Florida. He sufferes a severe head injury when his SUV is run off the road by a truck that same night.
October (01) MTV, VH1 and Much Music run a full day of Skyler Thomas videos and interviews with hourly updates on Skyler's condition. They talk about the fact that it was paparazzi that ran Skyler's SUV off the road. Stories are run about the photographer, Dan Parish, who died in the accident.
(05) "Skyler Thomas: The Man" airs on MTV with interviews of family and friends along with Sky High officials. It is watched by over ten million people.
(07) Chad Thomas is interviewed by Kurt Loder for MTV. He tells the world about his brother's condition and thanks the fans for their letters and support.
(08) "Behind The Music: Skyler Thomas" airs on VH1. "Precious" video and single are released. AJ McClean tells a VH1 reporter that the song was written mostly by Skyler, but he loves the fact that they sang it together. He cries on camera and tells the reporter that he is so scared for Skyler.
(10) Articles claiming that AJ McClean and Skyler Thomas are lovers begin to circulate in the tabloids.
(12) The Backstreet Boys hold a press conference, telling reporters that they are all pulling for Skyler. AJ McClean addresses the tabloid reports that he and Skyler are lovers. He tells the press that he is sickened by their lies in the face of the tragedy that has befallen his friend.
(14) "Crossfire" a show that talks about the fact that celebrities were ignoring the press airs on Fox News.
(28) "Rolling Stone Magazine" publishes a five page article about the accident that injured Skyler Thomas with an ivterview with Skyler's family in it's October issue. Skyler appears on the cover and is dubbed "The Prince Of Pop". "Precious" single is certified Diamond (1 Million Units).
(30) MTV, VH1 and Much Music run a prerecorded statement from Skyler Thomas, telling the fans that he is doing fine and thanking them for their continued support. It is the last time that Skyler Thomas is heard from in over a month publicly.
November (10) Sky High officials tell tabloid reporters that they do not know where Skyler is when the tabloids begin to ask questions about the whereabouts of Skyler Thomas.
(15) Clay Silver tells MTV's Kurt Loder that Skyler is doing fine and spending quality time with family and friends in an undisclosed location.
(20) Chad and Cassie Thomas begin to tell reporters "It's not your business" any time they are asked about Skyler.
(25) Skyler adopts his newborn brother and names him Preston James Thomas in Lexington, Kentucky. Steps are taken to keep the information from any of the press.
(26) "The Rag" publishes an article in their Novmber 1999 issue stating that Skyler is dead and calling the prerecorded statment aired on the music television channels a hoax.
(27) Skyler begins filming the video for "Rearranged" in Lexington, Kentucky with director Adam Slade.
December (03) Skyler appears on the cover of "OUT" magazine with a four page interview in their December '99 issue.
(06) Skyler guests on CBS's "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" as a surprise guest, shocking the audience and home viewers of the live broadcast.

(17) "Rearranged" single and video are released, and Skyler's sixth album, "Hearts In Armor" is released. Skyler appears at the release party held at Club Rock in Orlando, Florida but he does not perform any of the songs from the album. Instead he tells fans that he is still recovering from the accident.
(24) Skyler guests on ABC's "Oprah" and talks about everything from the accident to the tabloid articles. He performs "Rearranged".
