Chapter Eleven:

The mall was packed the next morning when Ian found himself strolling through the throng of people with Sebastian and Carl. They were there to buy Christmas presents for their families. Ian had been given quite a bit of money, having been secretly bankrolled by first one parent and then the other with both giving him pointers and suggesting a gift for the other before he climbed into Carl's car and the boys were off. Now that they were actually there Ian wasn't having any fun. There were too many people for his taste. He saw Carl wrinkling his nose beside him apparently in agreement.

"Well we could go to Strumand's," said Sebastian. "I know I'll find something for Dalton there."

"But we won't find anything for anyone in there," laughed Carl. "We don't have accountants in our families, Seb."

"I have to get there eventually today," replied Sebastian. "I know what Dalton is buying for me so I have to get him something nice."

"How is it that you know what your brother is getting you for Christmas every year?" Carl asked, looking at Sebastian with a smirk.

"Because he always asks me what I want," he said. "And then he buys the first thing I tell him."

"Too predictable," laughed Carl.

"What about you, Ian?" Sebastian asked. "Do you know what you're getting everyone?"

"I was told by each parent what to get the other," he said slowly. "This is the first time I've ever bought anything for anyone so I guess I'm glad they did."

"That's not a good idea," said Carl.

"Parents are horrible at guessing what their spouses want for Christmas," agreed Sebastian. "Stick with us and we'll make sure your parents love the gifts you buy."

"All right," Ian said. The whole thing was just a bit overwhelming.

"What are you getting Amy?" Carl asked Sebastian with a smile on his face.

"A necklace," replied Sebastian. "She was eyeing it when we were here last Saturday so I know she wants it."

"That's cool," said Carl. "I'm just glad I don't have a girlfriend to worry about this year."

"What happened to Miranda?" Sebastian asked with a chuckle. "You two were hot and heavy when school started."

"Yeah well she decided that we were moving too fast," replied Carl with a scowl. "What she really meant was that she wanted to be with Danny Pierce."

"That's rough," said Sebastian. "Sorry, guy."

"No worries," said Carl with a smile. "I'm taking Sarah Franks to the Christmas Dance."

"Really?" Sebastian asked. "I thought she turned you down last year."

"She did," replied Carl. "Twice."

"So what happened to make her change her mind this year?" laughed Sebastian.

"Only the fact that she's Danny's ex and he's now dating mine," said Carl. "I think she's using me to make Danny jealous."

"And you're letting her?" Sebastian asked with a smirk.

"Of course," laughed Carl. "At least that way I won't show up without a date."

"Good point," laughed Sebastian.

"What about you, Ian?" asked Carl. "Who are you taking to the dance?"

"I'm not going to the dance," replied Ian. "I don't even know how to dance."

"Oh come on," said Sebastian. "You have to go to the dance. The whole gang will be there."

"I don't want to look stupid," he replied, looking away from them.

"You won't look stupid," said Sebastian. "I'll teach you to dance, and Amber will say yes if you ask her. She's been staring at you for the last week of school."

"She has?" Ian asked, turning to look at Sebastian with wide eyes.

"That got his attention," laughed Carl.

"Yes she has," informed Sebastian. "Amber likes you. Don't tell me you don't know. Look at how she's always playing with your hair. She never touches any of the rest of us."

"Amber is too old for me," he replied. In truth the whole conversation was making him nervous. He didn't know what to do with a girl, and Sebastian teaching him to dance would be too much for him to deal with and not make a fool out of himself in the process.

"It's just a dance, Ian," said Carl. "You don't have to marry her."

"I'll think about it," he said after a long moment. "But right now we're here for presents."

"All right," laughed Sebastian. "Let's do this."

They carefully made their way from store to store, dodging people here and there. Sebastian suggested an electronic organizer for Ian's father. He said that the man had been saying he needed a new one for a month at the diner. Carl told him that jewelry was always a hit for a mother from her son, so he bought a pair of earrings for his mother. For Alex he got a sweater and didn't take any time to really pick it out. If his friends noticed they didn't say anything.

Sebastian finally got them to Strumand's where he bought an expensive briefcase for his brother. Carl gave him a hard time about it all the way to the food court where they met up with Paul and Dyllan. The five of them got pizza and sat at a table in the middle of the court so they could watch everyone as they walked around. Sebastian told him that people watching was the biggest reason to go to the mall.

"So, Ian, how was your Thanksgiving?" Dyllan asked as they sat down.

"It was fine until Alex opened his mouth and my uncle and his lover left," replied Ian, surprising himself by the heat in his voice.

"Your uncle is Evan Parker, right?" Sebastian asked.

"Right," he replied.

"What exactly did Alex say to Evan?" Dyllan asked.

"Well first he just made disgusting noises whenever Evan or Jory would talk," Ian explained. "Then when Evan talked about a really great program he wants to volunteer for, Alex said something very wrong and wouldn't let it go even after my dad told him to shut up."

"Your brother is a serious asshole," said Paul Tate. "I'm sorry if that offends you, but I call it like I see it."

"No, I agree," replied Ian. "He's been nothing but rude for a long time now. He caused so much trouble that I moved into the basement."

"I remember that day," said Carl. "He was being a real stain."

"No one but his little cronies like him," said Dyllan. "Even when I was at Bryarwood High no one really liked Alex Keller."

"All I know is that I was excited to find out that I had a brother," Ian said. "Now I really don't even want to look at him."

"That really sucks," said Carl.

"Everyone's life has static, right?" Ian said with a smile.

"That's what I like about you, Ian," said Sebastian suddenly. "No matter what's going on you will just shrug it off. I like that."

"Oh I don't shrug anything off," he replied. "I try not to think about it too much but sometimes things can get too heavy to not think about them. Alex's attitude problem just isn't worth my time."

"What I meant was you came here from, what was it, ten years with a kidnapper?" Sebastian asked, making Ian slightly uncomfortable. "You fit right in when you got here. You didn't fit in with people your own age and you didn't become an Alex clone. You dove right in and met people and made friends on your own. That's what I meant."

"Well I really have Andy to thank for that," replied Ian, making Dyllan look away. "I know he's done some bad things but he was really nice to me that first day of school. Then he introduced me to all of you at lunch and that was that."

"Be careful with Andy Morlin, Ian," Dyllan said, looking at him hard. "He'll hurt you if you let him."

"He's been nothing but nice so far," said Ian, completely aware that everyone was looking at him now. "If things change I'll definitely let him have it. I promise."

"If anything happens I'll beat his ass," Sebastian said coldly. Ian could only look at him for a moment. "It's great that he's being a friend to you, and I want to believe that he really can be a friend. I just know him a lot better than you do and I know what he's capable of."

That effectively ended the conversation. Ian didn't know what to say after that. He wanted to defend Andy but knowing what he'd done to Dyllan he couldn't do that in front of him. He didn't know Dyllan very well but he liked the guy. That was the problem. The other problem was that he couldn't see Andy doing something like that to him. Sebastian was right about one thing. He did know Andy better than Ian did, but did he know the Andy that Ian knew?

They did a little more shopping, picking up odds and ends and then Carl drove him home. Once there he sat in the family room looking at the gift wrapped boxes of presents that he'd bought for his family and thought about Andy and what Sebastian and Dyllan had said. Then as if thinking about Andy had actually summoned him the boy walked down the stairs and into the family room.

"Your mom said you were down here," he said, smiling at him. "How was shopping?"

"It was fun at first," he replied, thinking of how serious the conversation had gotten in the food court. He wasn't going to tell Andy what was said though. He'd spare him that.

"So did you get presents for everyone?" Andy asked, walking around the sofa to sit next to him.

"Yeah," he sighed. "I got my mom and dad. Even Alex."

"Well that's good," replied Andy. "I just wanted to come by and maybe hang out for a while if that's all right with you."

"That's fine with me," said Ian. "I could use the company."

"Thanks," Andy said, flashing that shy smile that Ian had only recently come to know and love seeing on his face.

Ian put a movie in and as soon as he was seated on the couch beside him again Andy took his hand and held it just they way they held hands at his house. They sat in silence as the movie played on and Ian tried very hard to focus on it. He tried not to think about the fact that he was holding Andy's hand and his parents were right upstairs.

He liked holding Andy's hand. That was the problem. He didn't want his other friends to be angry with him but he really liked Andy. Perhaps he liked him a little too much but he couldn't help it. He'd thought of the time they'd spent in Andy's bedroom a few days prior over and over again and he just couldn't see the Andy they were all trying to warn him about. What he saw was a normal every day teenaged boy who was fumbling along his way to sexual enlightenment. He obviously had far less experience in the sexual department than Ian, but then Ian shouldn't have had the experience to begin with.

Throughout the course of the long weekend Ian spent time with both Carl and Sebastian doing things like walking around the mall or hanging out with the whole gang at the diner while Sebastian worked. He found in that time that he liked each of his friends for different reasons. Carl treated him like a close friend, confiding in him about what he really thought about Sarah Franks and generally just hanging out with him one on one. Sebastian talked to him about what was going on his life. He was very sympathetic to Ian's feelings about his relationship with Alex and even offered advice on how to try and become friends with his brother. Neither of the boys treated him like he was too young or anything like that. They treated him like an equal. What made it so great was that neither of them went out of their way to treat him that way. It was just natural.

He also spent a great deal of time with Andy. Three times over the course of the weekend he'd sucked Andy's dick while Andy jerked him off. He didn't know exactly where what was happening between them was going but he wasn't going to ask questions and possibly spoil it. He liked Andy. That was all there was to it. He liked the feel of Andy's hand in his. He loved the feel of Andy's hand on his dick and he liked sucking Andy off.

"Why don't you ever say anything about the fact that I don't suck your dick when you suck mine?" Andy asked on Sunday while they were getting dressed after their latest sexual activity.

"Because it doesn't matter to me," replied Ian honestly. "You get me off so what's the problem?"

"But you could just jerk me off and I'd be happy," said Andy. "I'm not saying that I don't enjoy the blow jobs but it just doesn't seem fair to you."

"Is that what you want?" he asked. "Do you want me to stop sucking your dick and go back to just jerking you off?"

"No, but I would understand if you wanted to," replied Andy. "I don't know if I'll ever be able to suck your dick, Ian."

"Well as long as I'm not complaining about that fact I don't see the problem," Ian said, buckling his belt and stepping into his shoes.

"All right," said Andy. "As long as you're not getting upset about it."

He wasn't getting upset about it. He sucked his dick on both of the days that Andy drove him to his house after school and three more times the next weekend. Andy continued to jerk him off each time and he'd asked the same question a time or two, but Ian's answer had always been the same. Ian thought that Andy was just making sure that he wasn't some how bullying Ian into performing sexual favors that weren't being returned.

He understood what it was that Andy was probably doing. If he didn't suck Ian's dick and only jerked him off he could say that all boys jerked off with a buddy at one time or another in their lives, but it didn't make them gay. That was fine with him, actually. If Andy wanted to hold on to an illusion Ian wasn't going to try to take it away from him. He'd just be thankful for the time he had with Andy before his "straight boy" side kicked in and he came to his senses.

Monday brought news from Illinois about the trial of Thomas Harvey Schultz had been continued once again until January. It seemed that Mr. Schultz was in more trouble than even Ian realized. He was fine with waiting until January to return to Illinois so that he could testify against his abductor. As far as he was concerned he didn't care if he ever saw Thomas Harvey Schultz again. That would be just fine with him actually. He knew that wasn't going to be the way it was though. He knew that he had to go back and tell the court exactly what had happened so that they would lock Thomas Harvey Schultz up for the rest of his life.

He continued to do well in school and keep his secret from his friends. It wasn't that he didn't think that Sebastian and Carl would understand that he hadn't wanted any of what had happened to him. Even Andy would probably understand that, but the chances of Andy understanding it were a lot smaller. It was the shame he would feel in having them all know what Thomas Harvey Schultz had done to him. He kept his secret closely guarded for that very reason. Telling his parents had been hard enough.

His almost daily study and homework sessions with Carl continued. The twice a week trip to Andy's also continued as well as the oral sex and masturbation. Ian was happy for the most part. He didn't want anything to change really. He liked things just the way they were. That was why he couldn't understand why he'd changed things between him and Andy himself. He'd done something so stupid and couldn't take it back once it was done. That's what he didn't understand.

He was between Andy's legs with Andy's dick in his mouth. It was Thursday and the next day would be the last day of classes. The Winter Break would begin with the Christmas Dance on the following Tuesday. He'd been thinking about Thomas Harvey Schultz all week long and he supposed that was why he'd done it. That didn't make much sense but the alternative scared the hell out of him.

"Let's try something different," he said after letting Andy's dick fall from his mouth. He reached across the bed for the hand cream that Andy had started using to jerk him off over the weekend. It had made it feel better and it brought Ian off faster and the orgasm had been more intense.

"What are you doing?" Andy asked as Ian started to rub a large amount of the hand cream onto his dick.

"Just wait," Ian replied, not looking him in the eye. "Slide down in the bed a little bit."

Andy complied and when he was in the position that Ian wanted him, Ian straddled his crotch. He took Andy's slippery dick and guided it to the right place and then carefully lowered himself, impaling himself on Andy's dick. Andy hissed in a breath and his eyes opened wide. Then his hands were on Ian's hips and he was fucking his dick in and out of Ian's ass not tenderly but not so hard that Ian couldn't handle it. They were both panting and sweating and when it was over Ian was shocked when Andy shoved him away.

"Where the fuck did you learn that?" cried Andy, glaring at him.

"I thought you'd like it," Ian said, inching himself further away from Andy.

"Just get dressed, Ian," he said coldly. "I'm taking you home."

"That won't be necessary," Ian replied as he got off the bed and grabbed his clothes. He dressed quickly while Andy sat in the middle of his bed glaring at him.

After buckling his belt and stepping into his shoes, Ian walked out of the bedroom, down the hall to the living room and out the front door. He knew his way home from Andy's house. The walk would take him a while but he knew his way. Then another thought ran through his head and he went next door to Evan and Jory's. He hoped that one of them was home as he climbed the front steps and knocked on the door.

"Ian!" Evan cried delightedly when he opened the door. "I was wondering when you were going to come see me."

"Uncle Evan, can I use your phone?" he asked, trying hard to make his face look normal. He didn't think he could do anything about his hands shaking but he could school his face and make it emotionless. He'd had years of practice.

"Sure, Ian," Evan said, stepping aside to allow him inside the house. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," replied Ian, forcing a smile that he hoped looked right on his face. "I just need to call for a ride home."

"Well I can take you home," said Evan. "Why don't you come inside and have a drink first."

"I really want to go home," Ian said, not taking a single step inside the house.

"Ok, Ian," Evan said looking at him hard. "Just let me get my keys and put the dog in the kitchen. You can come inside and wait."

"I'll be right here," Ian replied. He didn't think he could hold it in if he went inside and Evan was nice to him.

He watched his uncle go back inside his house but Evan didn't look happy about it. Ian was worried that Evan thought the reason he didn't want to come inside was completely different from the real one. He didn't know how to make him understand that it wasn't without telling him what had happened. That would never happen. He wasn't telling anyone what he'd done to Andy.
